Controls Engineer - Multiple Openings
Full-Time
Duties:

Responsible for designing, applying and validating controls systems to allow the specified functionality of machine control. Provide on-site engineering support for RFID updates and installation of DuroByte Nexus modules, including installation of new antennas interfacing modules. Review and approve mechanical/electrical drawings and customer/product specifications. Apply best practices in design and documentation including schematics and spare parts for new and existing equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional team members assisting in commissioning and analyzing PLC and electric interface problems and solving issues related to manufacturing process. Transfer knowledge of DuroByte controls systems to Ford Engineers, while promoting value-added services to customer. Complete operating, process, maintenance, trouble shooting and spare parts documentation. Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Analyze system requirements, capacity, and cost to determine feasibility of project and develop system plan for customers’ needs. Confer with other DuroByte engineers, customers, vendors and others to discuss existing and potential engineering projects or products with consideration given to site preparation, facility validation, installation, quality assurance and testing. Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, products and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations. Evaluate operational systems, prototypes and proposals and recommend repair or design modifications based on factors such as environment, service, cost and system capabilities. Prepare documentation containing information such as confidential descriptions and specifications of proprietary hardware and software, product development and introduction schedules, product costs and information about product performance weaknesses. developing and performing operational, maintenance and testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment and systems, maintaining maintenance schedules, design documentation and operational reports/charts. Provide suggestions to supervisor concerning applications and modifications for electronic properties used in components, products and systems to improve technical performance. Prepare engineering sketches and specifications for construction, relocation and installation of equipment, facilities, products and systems. Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline

Experience:

2 years of experience in the job offered, or in automation engineering position within the automotive industry. Experience must include controls design, build and manufacturing to maximize performance on automotive assembly production lines. Must have hands-on experience programming, commissioning, validating and supporting industrial automation control systems. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
