As a full-time Electronics Engineering Technologist with a background in the automotive sector and education in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, programming, debugging, validating, troubleshooting and operating electrical and electronic equipment and systems by:
- Using PLC and CNC on machining, assembly and gantry controls systems
- Applying knowledge of automotive OEM software standards
- Using industrial networks (Ethernet, Modbus, TCPIP, Profinet, Interbus S)
- Understanding mechanic, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
- Following design specifications
You will also design, develop, test and apply controls systems to allow the specified functionality of industrial processes; review and approve electrical drawings and customer and product specifications; and apply best practices in design and documentation including schematics and spare parts for new and existing equipment. Your ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional team members will be needed in supervising and assisting others in commissioning and analyzing various PLC and electric interface problems and solving issues related to manufacturing processes. Excellent verbal and written communications skills will be needed for knowledge transfer of the controls system to others, promote value-added services to customers and complete operating, process, maintenance and spare parts documentation as required.
Adherence to all environmental, health and safety and applicable legislative policies and procedures is a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook (Solidworks and Autocad an asset) with the ability to multi-task, problem solve, prioritize and complete projects within budget and on-time, rounds off the key qualifications needed for this position.
